F.U.E.C.H. – Board Meeting and General Assembly 2015 in Sibiu/Hermannstadt, Romania 17.10.2015

On 17th of October 2015 members of the F.U.E.C.H.-Management Board met at Hotel Hilton in Sibiu/Hermannstadt, followed by the F.U.E.C.H. General Assembly 2015.

President Hon. Consul General Dr. Wolfgang Breitenthaler and Vice-President Hon. Consul Jean-Jacques Baron Haus welcomed all Board-Members present and thanked for their valuable initiatives to support the Honorary Consuls in the member-associations resp. to strengthen the status of Honorary Consuls on European level and stressed the excellent cooperation with the European Institutions in Brussels. F.U.E.C.H. as accredited organisation of Honorary Consuls Associations in Europe to the European Commission will continue its successful path working on behalf of its member-organisations as well as to meet the wishes of newly established national and regional Consular-Associations for membership with F.U.E.C.H. resp. to contribute to realisation of the aims of F.U.E.C.H..

The Board as well as the Delegates at the General Assembly a.o. welcomed unanimously as new member the Association of Honorary Consuls of Romania (President Hon. Consul Andreas Huber), other important decisions had been made in order to expand membership of F.U.E.C.H. as well as to  fix dates and places of F.U.E.C.H.-Meetings in 2016.

The General Assembly was followed by an excursion to the southern carpatian region with visits to the summer palace of Samuel v. Brukenthal, Governor General to Transsylvania of Austrian Empress Maria-Theresia, as well as to the ancient monastery of Kerz, in the evening Board-members and Delegates enjoyed a festive Dinner at Albota, hosted by new member CC-Romania, tasting excellent fish-dishes and wines from the region. All Honorary Consuls and spouses present enjoyed the hospitality and common spirit of the friends in Romania and are looking forward to a fruitful cooperation.
